A loan helped to buy a buffalo.

Thanh Luong 39 Group's story

Thanh, 44, is a Thai ethnic lady who is married and she has two sons: the oldest son is already working while the younger is in 7th grade. Her family lives in a small house in the northwest mountains of Vietnam, where agricultural production is main source for a living.

Because of the instability of the income from agriculture, Thanh works very hard at many activities, including growing rice, corn and vegetables and raising chickens, pigs, and buffaloes. Wishing to expand the breeding model and develop the family's economy, Thanh decided to take her eighth loan from the Anh Chi Em program (ACE). She will use the loan together with her savings to buy a buffalo.

With the support from ACE and her experiences, Thanh hopes the buffalo will gain weight fast and be healthy so that it could bring her good income, which she plans to reinvest to pay for her son to go to school.

Thanh wishes her children will have a happy family and a bright future.
