but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy rice, pasta, vegetables, coffee and oil to make the meals she sells.

Yessica Pilar's story

Yessica is a 35 year old entrepreneur and resident of the municipality of Cartagena, She has a business renting a tejo (traditional Colombian throwing game) court and making and selling meals, which she has been doing for over two years. The business grew out of the need to generate income to raise her family and provide schooling for her children. Through a friend she got a plot of land to rent and as she had worked in a similar business for a long time she knew how to operate it. Her business is located in a fairly busy spot so she takes advantage of the large clientele that come to also sell soft drinks and meals like BBQ. She now has joined the “Cartagena Responde” program and is requesting a loan from Kiva, her first financing from the Fundación Santo Domingo, in order to deal with the crisis provoked by COVID-19. In the future she wants to have her own plot of land. The resources will be invested in the purchase of rice, pasta, vegetables, coffee and oil to make the meals she sells. Support her with her loan. It will be a success!
