A loan helped to buy baby chickens and baby ducks to raise.

Thanh An 44 Group's story

Hoa, 44, is a mother of two children. She lives with her husband and son in a small house in a poor and remote village of Vietnam. Her daughter is married and lives far away. Hoa's family relies mainly on agricultural production for a living, and she is the main worker in the family because her husband is ill and cannot do any hard work.

Because of the instability of the income from agriculture, Hoa works very hard at many activities, including growing rice and raising chickens, ducks, and buffaloes. With the desire to escape poverty and expand her business, Hoa decided to join the Anh Chi Em program and got her first loan from the program. The loan will be used to buy baby baby chickens and baby ducks to raise. Hoa hopes with the support—not only financial but also non-financial—from ACE, the baby chickens and baby ducks will grow up fast and be healthy so that they could bring her good income, which she plans to reinvest.

Hoa wishes her family would escape poverty and that her children will always be healthy without getting sick. In the picture, she stands first from the right.
