Maria Elisa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a stove with an oven and corn wholesale so she can update her equipment and have enough ingredients to make tortillas and tamales.

Maria Elisa's story

María is a widow. She lives with her son, 27, and her daughter-in-law, 25.

María's business is making tortillas and tamales to sell. At the moment she's the only one who works to support the household. She learned the trade with the help of her mother, who worked selling tamales. She opened the business at the age of 26 and to date hasn't had any problems keeping it running. Her work schedule is from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. She sells her products in her home and also offers home delivery in her community.

She has decided to apply for a loan so she has the money she needs to strengthen her business inventory. She's going to use the money from the loan to buy a stove with an oven and corn wholesale. That way she'll update her working equipment and have enough ingredients to make tortillas and tamales.

The investment will help her improve the growth of her own business activities. The risk of the investment is that she might have health problems and have to stop working.

Her dreams are to grow her business and to have a sales stall in the market, because that way she'll generate more income for her family.
