Iva's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her kava business by increasing her stocks.

Iva's story

Kava, the traditional ceremonial drink for any Fijian occasion, has become so popular that many now consume it almost everyday and not only during special occasions.

Seeing that people of Navunievu village would often walk distances to the next village just to buy kava, Iva decided that she would sell kava from her home to help with the sustenance of her family while also making things easier for her fellow villagers.

After her sales became successful in the first few months and she saw how it was helping her family, Iva decided that it was time to expand her business but she has not been able to due to lack of resources. With this loan, she hopes to be able to increase her purchases of dried kava plants from her suppliers to meet the increasingly high demand for pounded kava and also purchase large storage containers, a proper weighing scale and possibly a pounder so she will not have to go to the next town to have them pounded.
