but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

La Prosperidad San Bartolo Group's story

Yovaneyda, at 22 years old, is a young entrepreneur, is married, and has 2 children. She has been engaging in street vending for 7 years. She started out selling cajetas [traditional sweets]; later, she sold foods like nacatamales, enchiladas, and hojuelas [large, round, flat, flaky fried pastries]; and now, with the earnings from her first business, she sells new clothing.

Thanks to her previous financing with Kiva funds, she has been able to maintain her business and diversify her income streams. Now she is requesting a new loan at Fundenuse with Kiva funds to buy ingredients for making hojuelas, enchiladas, and nacatamales, and also to buy new clothing merchandise to sell. Her greatest dream is to be able to set up a general store at her home.

She belongs to the solidarity group "La prosperidad San Bartolo" [The St. Bartholomew prosperity] together with Digna, who engages in selling clothing, and Yasmina, who makes tortillas, ground coffee, and cuajada [fresh curd cheese].
