Andrea Del Pilar's story

Andrea Del Pilar is a 27-year-old microbusiness owner living in Soledad with her husband. For the last ten years, she has worked making clothes, lingerie and pyjamas. She says that she had the idea for this business by chance: she worked making clothes for companies, but they paid very little, so she decided to leave and start an independent business.

She first started with her friends, who asked her to make them clothes as a favour, which showed her that there was a business opportunity, then she started working continuously. She says that her experience working for a tailoring company has made things a little easier.

Thanks to this business, she has become well known because many people recommend her for her good service. She has also been able to help support her household. However, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the amount of work has decreased for biosafety reasons and her income has drastically decreased. That is why she joined the Atlántico Responde programme to request her first Kiva loan through the Fundación Santo Domingo, to invest in buying fabric, buttons, sliders, studs, etc. Support her. It will be a success.
