Leonie's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy grocery items like toiletries, food seasonings, canned goods, noodles, eggs, snack food, and drinks, and to buy gasoline and crude oil.

Leonie's story

Leonie is from Concepcion, Iloilo. She is 50 years old and has two children. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store, selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for many years. Aside from this, she also buys and sells crude oil and gasoline.

Now, she asks for a loan of PHP 47, 000 through Kiva’s field partner, CEV (a microfinance NGO) in the Philippines which she will use to buy grocery items like toiletries, food seasonings, canned goods, noodles, eggs, snack foods, and drinks. The rest will be used to buy gasoline and crude oil.

She wants to augment their livelihood in the future for a better means of living.
