Kalipa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy dairy cows in order to increase the volume of her milk sales.

Kalipa's story

This sweet woman is Kalipa. She is a 60-year-old widow who lives with her son. She has a secondary education, and has been raising livestock and growing crops since 1980; this is her family's main source of income. Thanks to Kalipa's hard work and her son's help with the farm, it presently consists of three cows, 15 sheep, five horses, and a 2.4-hectrae plot of irrigated land on which she grows organic beans.

In order to develop her business further, Kalipa is seeking support from Kiva in the amount of 35,000 som (KGS) to buy livestock. Her aim in this is to increase her livestock-breeding income. The income generated by the loan will help her farm expand through boosting its headcount of pedigree dairy cows and help her buy a new family home.
