Ana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in her small cattle-raising business by buying 10 cows and fixing her farm's fence.

Ana's story

Meet Ana! She lives with her husband and four children in the rural community of Santa Librada, East Panama. Ana works as an administrative assistant in the local school and during her free time, she raises chickens and pigs to generate income for her family.

Ana feels ready to start her cattle-raising business, which requires more initial capital, but it's more profitable than chickens or pigs. With this first Kiva loan, she is aiming to buy 10 cows to raise and also fix the fence of her cattle-raising farm. With the generated profits, she plans to re-invest in her farming business afterwards. This is a common activity in her region, but Ana lacks the capital for her cattle investment.

Afro-Panamanian women in rural in Panama have been historically excluded from basic financial services. Thank you for supporting Ana. This loan will help her family and grow her young farming microenterprise.
