Mary's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 28-year-old Mary from Waterloo branch. She is a married woman who started this business to support her family.

Mary runs a retail business where she sells fast food, coal and other assorted items. She has been in this business for the past five years. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID 19 pandemic.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase foodstuffs, coal and other assorted items to increase her business. Mary says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and her family's welfare. In the future, she would like to establish on a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
