Johana Gabriela's story

Johana Gabriela and her family live in Santa Ana, a pretty valley. There are corn and rice crops, ranching, and, in cuisine, a variety of traditional dishes like peanut-based "viches" [stews], "tongas" [dishes with rice, meat, plantains, and peanut sauce]. There are also freshwater resorts.

Johana Gabriela is an informal vendor. She sells a variety of clothing for women, men, and children. She makes rounds throughout her area selling her products and also sells at home, leaving items with her customers and collecting payment weekly. She used to have a restaurant.

She has suffered economic hardship during this worldwide crisis. Her customers can't pay her because they've lost their jobs, and others have died. Things were very bad for her at the beginning of the health crisis because she couldn't make sales, but she's reactivating her business now little by little, so she can continue to earn her income that way.

Her dream is to have a proper store for sales and for her family to be very healthy.
