Lorian's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cost-efficient maize seeds and fertilizer for the coming harvesting season.

Lorian's Group's story

Pictured above is Lorian, who, as a group leader, is representing his group of 10 farmers in Teso district, Kenya. He is a father to nine children and is known by his community as a very hard-working individual.

Initially, Lorian joined One Acre Fund in 2013 because he wanted to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods. Since he joined the program he says that his life has improved, especially because he has learnt a lot from farming trainings. With the profits from the coming harvesting season, Lorian plans to send his children to school.

Between the 10 farmers in Lorian's Group, a total of 6.75 acres of land will be planted using the maize seeds and fertilizer received with the loan. Additionally, some of the farmers in the group will be purchasing a solar light so, with this loan, the group will also receive a total of two solar lights.
