Doris's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business and increase the size and range of her stock.

Doris's story

Doris is a 21-year-old entrepreneur, who lives with her parents and child in the Samfya district in Zambia. Doris sells dried fish and cassava meal.

With her first Kiva loan, Doris expanded her business. Doris is requesting a second loan to continue to expand her business by buying more bundles of fish and bags of cassava in order to meet her customers' needs.

Doris plans to use the profits she earns to support her child and help her parents meet their basic needs.

Doris will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a Financial Education Guide, supporting other young women in her community by teaching them about financial literacy and best practices for setting up a business.
