Mildred's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by buying more bags of rice in order to consistently meet her customers' needs.

Mildred's story

Mildred is a 32-year-old entrepreneur, who lives with her husband and two children in the Samfya district in Zambia. Mildred operates a business selling rice.

Her business is thriving since Mildred received her first Kiva loan, which empowered her to replenish her inventory and increase her sales. Mildred is requesting a second loan to expand her business by buying more bags of rice in order to consistently meet her customers' needs.

Mildred plans to use the profits she earns to support her family members and pay her children’s school fees.

Mildred will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build children’s self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
