Yorlenis Isabel's story

Yorlenis Isabel is a 55-year-old microentrepreneur and a resident of the municipality of Campo de la Cruz. She has over 10 years of experience selling soft drinks, beverages, juices, and ice in bulk and retail. She distributes to various stores in the municipality increasing her sales volume. In addition to this, she rents out plastic chairs.

Previously, she worked selling merchandise and gradually it grew until she established a variety store in her store, a business which she still does alongside selling beverages. She managed to lift up her family by working Monday to Sunday and today she sees the fruits of her sacrifice. She is married and from this relationship has 2 children who, with her efforts, began a technical degree program in SENA.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which appeared at a global level, her work level dropped for biosafety reasons and her cash flow diminished drastically, so much so that she had to turn to selling to homes.

With the desire to reactivate her finances, she joined the Programa Atlántico Responde to ask for her first Kiva loan, through Fundación Santo Domingo, with the goal of investing in the purchase of a cooler, soft drinks, beverages, water, ice, and repairing a refrigerator so to increase her storage capacity. Support her in her business loan.
