A loan helped to purchase merchandise to sell in his store, such as spices, shampoos, soaps, canned goods, snack foods, soft drinks, and miscellaneous products.

Darith's story

Darith, aged 36, is an experienced construction worker from a rural village of Kien Svay district, Kandal province. He has been doing construction for more than three years and also works as a paid laborer for additional income. He has a common law relationship with his wife, who is a loving mother of two children.

His wife is a seller, who sells grocery products to customers to earn a living. Because of the phenomenon of Covid-19, his income from selling groceries has decreased because the customers in his community have reduced demand. This affects prices and Darith loses income-earning opportunities and the price of grocery products is very much cheaper than usual.

The income from his retail business is barely enough to cover his daily expenses, so he wants to purchase more grocery products to supplement his earnings. Since he has inadequate capital, Darith is requesting a loan of 4,000,000 KHR to purchase merchandise to sell in his store, such as spices, shampoos, soaps, canned goods, snack foods, soft drinks, and miscellaneous products. He hopes to fill his store with groceries that will satisfy his customers’ needs.

Through the income he will earn from his business, he will provide his children's basic needs in school and daily food. He sends thanks to all lenders for support and promises to pay the loan back on time as scheduled. He takes a photo with his wife.
