Memia's loan finished fundraising,

A loan helped to buy plywood and paint for repairing her fishing boat, as well as dried fish to sell.

Memia's story

Memia lives a simple dwelling in Concepcion, Iloilo. She is 63 years old, married, and has one dependent. To earn an income, she and her husband engage in fishing. They have been in this livelihood for many years. In addition to fishing, Memia buys and sells dried fish to earn extra income.

She is now requesting a Kiva loan of 50,000 PHP from CEVI, a microfinance NGO in the Philippines. Memia will use the loan to buy plywood and paint for repairing her fishing boat. Part of the loan will be used to buy dried fish to sell.

Memia wants to expand her business in the future so that she can earn a better living.
