Luis Majin's story

Luis Majin is a 69-year-old man who lives in the town of Suan with his mother and two children. Luis has a lot of experience in commerce. He learned the business skills he has when he was a young boy, which he inherited from his parents.

Unfortunately, like many other families, Luis become displaced, along with his mother, from the town of Barranco de Loba in the Bolívar department. But due to life's misfortunes, he fought with all his effort and sacrifice to get his children ahead, giving them a high-quality education.

Luis sells cheese wholesale and in retail. This job has generated excellent benefits and profits for him. His main customers are restaurants, supermarkets, people who pass through town, friends, and people referred to him, to whom he offers his high-quality products.

He is currently applying for a Kiva loan, the first funding that he has done through the Santo Domingo Foundation, to invest in the purchase of containers to store and make the product, as well as maintenance for the vehicles that he will use to distribute the product.

Luis does not feel that his age is an obstacle to keep working and makes an effort day after day. His goal is to be able to fill all of his customers' different orders, and increase income income through an increase in sales so that he can cover the costs generated by his family.
