Celia Matilde's story

Celia Matilde is a micro-entrepreneur who lives with her husband in the municipality of Suán in the department of Atlántico.

This brave and enterprising woman saw a business opportunity in the proximity of her home to a park and a school and, eight years ago, started her business selling refreshments, ice cream, and candy. She has managed to earn her own income and improve her family's economic status with this job. Her main customers are students, school employees, people from the neighborhood, friends, and passersby.

Celia is very devoted to and passionate about her work. Celia's family is very important to her and she has the support of her husband, who helps her wait on customers. This business has been very profitable for this micro-entrepreneur, but her income was affected by the pandemic and she had to turn to savings to help with the family expenses.

Currently she's applying for a Kiva loan, her first financing from Fundación Santo Domingo, resources she'll invest in a purchase of cookies, sweets, ice cream, sodas, etc.

This micro-entrepreneur dreams of having her ice cream shop well equipped and with ample inventory to satisfy her customers and offer many more products.

Support her in her business loan; it will be a success.
