Alphonsine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a rental truck to add to her fleet of vehicles.

Alphonsine's story

Alphonsine is an established entrepreneur who lives in Rwanda. She operates a transportation company in Karongi District. The company was started in 2014. Alphonsine had a supermarket and a vehicle that was used to transport goods. She immediately came up with the idea of renting out the vehicle during those times when she did not need it. Alphonsine rented the vehicle to other businesspeople who needed to transport their staff and goods. The business continued to grow and she now owns four cars (two double-cabin vehicles and two jeeps).

Alphonsine rents out vehicles to different people for specific periods of time. She now has a contract with the district office to transport staff and materials for various jobs, such as road construction. Alphonsine has hired six full-time employees, including two Congolese refugees who live in the Kiziba Refugee camp that is located in Karongi District.

Most of her clients want to rent trucks for transporting different construction materials, such as soil and stones. In order to maintain her good reputation, she also rents a truck so that she can meet the demands of her customers. This loan to Alphonsine will enable her to purchase a company truck to add to her fleet so that she can avoid having to rent one from others. She plans to employ another refugee to work as the driver of the new truck.
