Martha Auxiliadora's story

Martha, 56, lives in the outskirts of Guayaquil. She is a divorced mother. She sells lunches every day; this is the main way she generates income to support herself. Martha has sold lunches for a numbers of years, ever since her husband left the country and left her alone with their children. From that time until their children grew she has worked alone selling lunches from 8am until 1:30pm every day. She makes the lunches in her home, and sells them to her established customers. In order to have more income and make more lunches, she wants to use the loan to buy rice, cooking oil and drinks. In the future she wants to have her own business premises where she can have her own restaurant.
