A loan helped to buy lumber.

Sifa Mpya Group's story

Madame Odile is a client of microfinance institution Hekima and leads the Sifa Mpya Group. She 51 years old, and her husband is a mechanic. Odile has 6 children—3 who are in school and 3 who have graduated.

She started her business selling lumber 10 years ago with startup funds from her husband. Later, she partnered with Hekima to support her business, and it has progressed steadily since then. Her main business challenge is related to scarcity of customers.

With this new loan, Odile will purchase lumber, strengthening her working capital. She would like to feed her family and for her children to continue their education. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they give to owners of non-bankable businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to social distancing measures, only the group leader is shown in the photo.
