Tuinuwe Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy 10 goats, which will strengthen her capital.

Tuinuwe Group's story

Madam Charlotte is a client of the microfinance institution ‘Hekima’ and is the advisor for the village group “Uwezo”. She is 57 years old, married, and has 10 children who are all in school. Her partner is a joiner, and she sells goats for a living.

She started this business 22 years ago with start-up capital from her husband. She later involved the Hekima programme to support her business, during which it gradually evolved. With this new loan, she is going to buy 10 goats, which will strengthen her capital. Her business faces some challenges due to a lack of stock to sell.

She would like to continue being able to feed her family and wants her children to continue studying. Lastly, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support given to owners of businesses that cannot be exchanged for cash in this global COVID-19 crisis. The photo is only of the group leader because of COVID-19 in compliance with social distancing measures.
