Rose's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve her maize harvest.

Rose's Group's story

Rose, who appears in the photo, is often described as an extremely experienced farmer. She is 48 years old and has six children. As a group leader, she is representing seven farmers from Kakamega B (North) District, Kenya.

Rose is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again, as this means that she is able to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods, which is why she decided to join in the first place. She says that she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2016, she has learned a lot from the farming training sessions, which have improved her day-to-day life significantly. Rose will use the profits from this season to send her children to school.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 4.75 acres. Given that a member of the group will also be purchasing a solar light, the group will also receive one solar light as part of the loan package.
