but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve maize harvests.

Beka's Group's story

Pictured above is Beka, often described as an extremely resourceful person. She is 46 years old and has 7 children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of 6 farmers in Matete District, Kenya.

Beka is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund again as this means that she is able to have access to the best seed prices, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Beka says that she is happy to have made that decision. Since she first joined in 2016, she has been able to consistently feed her family, which has improved her daily life significantly. Beka will use the profits from this season to buy a cow.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 2.75 acres.
