Metrine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and make more profit for her family.

Metrine's story

Metrine (pictured outside her house) is a 66-year-old mother living in Bungoma, a land that supports agricultural production. She is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who works with passion and determination.

Metrine is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs which she will use to improve her production and make more profit for her family. Access to modern-quality farm inputs (fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides) is the pillar of agricultural revolution. However, in Kenya, a developing country, fertilizer and seed allocation by the government is way below the needs of farmers.

Since Juhudi Kilimo, which is in partnership with Kiva, ventured into the affairs of smallholder farmers in Kenya, farmers can attest that there has been a significant improvement of inputs availability as compared to before. Kindly support Metrine so that she can make the upcoming holidays colorful for her family.
