Las Pilas De Salamanca Group's story

Elsa is 42 years old, married, and the mother of three children. She makes tortillas, Nicaraguan tamales, and ground coffee and, in the vegetable harvesting season, she goes out to sell the fresh products in the city. She is an expert in negotiating and has been in the business for ten years, directed from her house. She likes her trade and cannot imagine herself in a different profession. All of her work is lovely to her and she makes her product with love and dedication. So, her services are always in demand.

She asks for a loan from FUNDENUSE with Kiva funds to purchase corn, coffee, pork and chicken, banana leaves, firewood, and spices to make her product. Her goal for the future is to build a kitchen where she has more space for her small food factory. Her next goal is to invest in her business and get more orders.

She belongs to the solidarity group Las Pilas de Salamanca with Silvio and Justo who sell basic grains.
