Sarah's story

Greetings from Liberia! This is Sarah, a 32-year-old single mother with four children, all of whom live at home while attending school. Sarah completed school through the second grade. She is a hardworking businesswoman who sells a variety of soft drinks. Sarah has been managing her sales for 10 years. Her father gave her the money to start this business and her mother taught her how to sell. Sarah has not had any problems with her business. She uses a motorbike to transport supplies to her business site.

To continue her sales, Sarah applied for a Kiva loan through BRAC Liberia to buy more varieties of drinks to sell so that she can build her business even more. She enjoys her business because it enables her to support her children. In the future, she wants to continue supporting her children’s education and to build a house. She wishes to express her thanks to the lenders.
