Aminata's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 34-year-old Aminata from Aberdeen branch. She is married with two children between the ages of 6 and 21, and both of them are attending school.

She started this business to be financially stable to support herself.

Aminata runs a retail shop and sells different kinds of bowls and other assorted items. She has been in this business for the past three years.

Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during COVID-19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase bowls, kitchen utensils, household utensils and other assorted items to increase her business.

Aminata says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and to take care of her family welfare and her children’s education.

In the future, she would like to establish in to a larger scale. She says thanks to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.
