A loan helped to purchase hair products and other assorted items to increase her business.

Mamusu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is Mamusu, a 34-year-old client from the Aberdeen branch. She is a single parent of an 18-year-old child who is in school. Mamusu started her business so that she could be financially stable enough to support herself.

She has a retail shop where she sells hair products and other assorted items. Mamusu has been in this business for the past three years. Her main challenge is dealing with occasional slow sales during this time of COVID-19.

Mamusu requested a loan from BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase hair products and other assorted items to increase her business. She says that the extra income that results from this loan will help to improve her business, allow her to provide for her family’s welfare, and pay for her child’s education. In the future, she would like to establish her business on a larger scale. Mamusu expresses her thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
