Sallay's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase drinks and other assorted items to increase her business.

Sallay's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! Meet Sallay from Aberdeen branch. She is 49 years old and married with three children between the ages of 21 and 27 years old. She also has three other relatives who depend on her.

Sallay runs a shop selling drinks and other assorted items. She started her business to be financially stable and support herself and has been in managing it for the past five years. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is sometimes slow sales during COVID-19.

Sallay requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more drinks and other assorted items to sell and increase her business. She says that the extra income earned through the loan will help her to take care of her family's welfare and pay for her children’s education.

In the future, Sallay would like to establish a larger shop. She thanks BRAC and Kiva for their support!
