A loan helped to buy construction materials for use in building a bakery.
Las Heroinas Group's story
The group called “Las heroínas” is in its sixth loan cycle in this program. It is made up of neighbors and friends from the area. They do everything possible to get their families ahead.
One of the group members stands out: Maria, who is also the president of the group. She works the night shift in a pizzeria and by day works selling chipas (a traditional Paraguayan food). She also makes cakes and snacks to order.
She lives with her husband and children. She is an enterprising and self-sacrificing person who doesn’t give up and who puts everything she has into improving herself and offering a better quality of life to her loved ones.
Maria is asking for this loan to buy construction materials for finishing her pastry shop. In this way she can have her own shop where she can work comfortably in order to keep helping her family.
Note: Only one person appears in the photo, but this is a group loan. A group photo wasn’t possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to avoid groups congregating.
