01_Gpf Some Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy fish as well as other diverse products to resell.

01_Gpf Some Group's story

This group was set up in 2019 and is made up of five women who live in the same neighborhood and have always progressed together, working with their own capital. This is their first loan from the institution.

Ndiéme is the group's representative and she is 39 years old; she is on the left of the photo with her hand raised. She is a married woman, who is mother to five children, one of whom is a boy. Ndiéme buys and sells fishing produce and palm oil. She works in the central market and in her own neighborhood. She has more than ten years' experience in this field.

With her loan she is planning to increase her stock, by buying five ten-liter bottles of palm oil and four baskets of dried fish. Her business is doing well as she has a loyal customer base. Her profits will be used to build up savings, to contribute to "tontines" (a revolving finance system, whereby each member contributes periodically an agreed amount and this is passed on in rotation to different members), and to provide for her own and her children's needs.
