A loan helped to purchase livestock to increase her income from livestock breeding.

Baktygul's story

This sweet woman is Baktygul. She is 57 years old, married, and raising four children. She has higher education, and by character she is friendly. As a main source of income for her family, she has worked with livestock breeding and field crop cultivation since 1988.

Thanks to Baktygul's persistent work, and the help of her husband, she currently has two cows, five sheep and two horses on her farm. She also has 1.71 hectares of irrigated land, on which she grows organic alfalfa.

With an aim to further develop her business, she requests a loan from Kiva in the amount of 200,000 som (KGS) to purchase livestock. She aims to increase the income from feeding and reselling livestock. The income from the loan helps her to expand her farm through increasing her herd and to pay for her son's wedding.
