Teuta's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped an elderly lady to buy different citrus seedlings to plant on her land so she can provide her family needs for lemons, oranges, tangerines and citrus.

Teuta's story

Teuta is an elderly woman from a village near the capital city. She is a proud mother of two adult children: a married daughter, and a son who lives and works in Germany.

Around 25 years ago, Teuta and her husband moved from their northern hometown to this village, to be near the capital city. They built a small detached house themselves, and still live in this house today. Teuta says this was the best decision that they could have made at that time.

Teuta works in a wooden processing factory for a monthly income of around $200, and her husband receives a retirement pension of around $80 a month. They are both engaged with a little agricultural activity on the lands they have around their house. Thanks to that activity, they are able to meet their own needs for vegetables, and also make a little extra income when Teuta's husband sells some of the harvest at a nearby national road.

Teuta is hoping for support from Kiva lenders for the first time, to buy different citrus seedlings to plant on her lands, so she can meet her family needs for lemons, oranges, tangerines and citrus. In the future, she hopes to make extra income by selling some of the harvest.

Teuta thanks all Kiva lenders for the support given and wishes a prosperous season to all of you!
