A loan helped to buy farming inputs that she will use to improve her corn farm to make more profits to support her family.

Edith's story

Edith is a 40-year-old mother of four school going children. She lives in Kitale, a land of seemingly never-ending beauty. She is a resourceful woman who moves from pillar to post for the support of her family. Edith has been farming for the past few years to support her family. Through farming, she has made her life meaningful, and she obtains maximum benefits.

Edith is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs that she will use to improve her corn farm to support her family during this tough time. The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is a lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.
