Maria Teresa's story

Maria Teresa and her family live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016, and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is rich in the production of vegetables, legumes and tropical fruits for domestic consumption.

Maria Teresa has a business in her home selling waters, soda pop, juices, candy, and rechargeable phone cards. Previously she sold lottery tickets in various neighborhoods. Currently, María Teresa had an accident in which she broke her femur and she was operated on, so now she is alone in her home and a daughter helps her with her sales. At first the health crisis was very bad as she could not sell. But now, little by little, she is restarting her business in order to be able to continue generating income.

This loan will be used to buy waters, soda pop, and rechargeable phone cards.

Her dream is to continue recuperating and that her family is healthy.
