John's story
Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 46-year-old John from Waterloo branch. He is married with five children between the ages of 5 and 23 years old and all of them are attending school. He started this business to support his family.
John runs a retail business and sells food items, like rice, maggi, onions, and other assorted items. He has been in this business for the past 4 years. His other source of income comes from his spouse’s business. His main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID 19 pandemic.
He requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase food items, such as rice, maggi, onions, oil, palm oil, flour and other assorted items to increase his business. John says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve his business and his family's welfare. In the future, he would like to establish himself at a larger scale. He thanks BRAC and Kiva for their support.
