Jamil's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more cows to fatten and sell.

Jamil's story

Jamil, a cattle keeper, is a married man aged 56 with seven children, of whom four are school-going children, plus one dependent. He lives in Kamwenge, Uganda. He earns a living from rearing cattle, alongside buying maize and beans. The family's major source of income has been cattle for more than 10 years. Jamil buys cows, rears them for some time (referred to as cattle fattening), and sells them later at slightly higher prices. He uses the profit to educate his children and to meet other family needs. Jamil’s business is a profitable one but lacks capital. Unfavorable weather like prolonged drought, pests and diseases require him to keep informed on modern ways of raising healthy animals. He is requesting a loan to buy more cows for rearing.
