Kathleen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy boxes of ice cream to serve in cones and sell to increase her income.

Kathleen's story

Kathleen is a very smart, 81 year old mother of two grown children. She has been separated for several years, lives with her son in her own home. She lives in a large residential area located about 5 to 10 minutes drive to Port Vila city. Her community has a lot of food stalls and kava bars around, to earn a steady income can be tricky.

Kathleen has requested a loan to help her purchase boxes of ice cream which she will serve in cones to her customers. She also bakes cake which she has been doing since the early 90's, but due to her old age she focuses mostly on her ice cream business. It has been very hot during this season and her sales are good, this will help her increase her revenue, which she will use save up for any future emergencies. This is Kathleen's second loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. Starting up this business she wants her grandchildren to take over after she has gone.
