Mildred's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in food supplies and other products for her business.

Mildred's story

Mildred, 50, is a small-businesswoman from the municipality of Suan, where she lives with her husband. She's had a business selling fried food for 3 years. She sells items like: egg arepas [cornmeal cakes], cassava fritters, chicken and beef empanadas, and other dishes. She started this business with the help of her husband, who also works independently. At this time, Mildred's business is located on the porch of her house. Her daily sales are high, because she offers fresh products of good quality at fair prices. Thanks to her business, Mildred is able to cover the household expenses and help her relatives to achieve their objectives and goals.

But due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, her work activity declined due to issues of biosecurity, and her income fell dramatically. This is why she got involved in the "Atlantico Reponds" program to request her first loan through Kiva and the Fundacion Santo Domingo. She will use these funds to invest in beef, pork cutlets, chicken, vegetables, rice, sugar, salt, garlic, plates, cutlery, tables, and chairs. Support her with a loan for her business!
