A loan helped to buy beverages to sell.

Nancy Del Carmen's story

Nancy Del Carmen, 24, is a small-businesswoman from the city of Barranquilla, where she lives with her family. For 2 years, she's had a business selling domestic and imported beer, along with water, juices, and soft drinks. She started this business because her parents were left unemployed, and being the eldest daughter she decided to take charge of supporting the family. She used her savings to invest in a sufficient quantity of the beverages mentioned above. In her heart, she knew that this business would help her to support her family, because the area where she lives gets a lot of foot traffic, and she comes from a family that everyone knows in the neighborhood.

Ever since opening the business, her sales have been good, and she's maintained this level of business for many months thanks to her loyal customers and good prices. Her customers are mainly friends, neighbors, and relatives. Today, this business has given her financial stability, which is what she wanted. But because of the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, her work activity declined for biosecurity reasons, and her income fell dramatically. This is why she became involved in the "Barranquilla Responds" program and is requesting her first Kiva loan through the Fundacion Santo Domingo. She will use these funds to buy beer, soft drinks, and other beverages. Support her with this loan for her business!
