A loan helped to increase stock for the store.

Antoinette's story

Antoinette is a refugee from Burundi living in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya. More than that, she is a mother of two, a wife, and a successful entrepreneur running a grocery store business at the camp.

She started the business in 2014 soon after arriving at the camp and to date it continues to experience steady growth. It is located in the busy Ethiopian market and hence conveniently serves a considerable number of her fellow refugees and the host community around regularly.

She actively participated in AEC’s business training program focused on financial management and increasing sales for the business. She was able to apply the skills in running the store, which now boasts improved cashflows and efficiency.

A loan to Antoinette will allow her to increase stock for the store, ensuring she continues to serve her community with more consumption options while at the same time growing her business.
