Avec Kawral Linguewal Group's story

Madame Idiatou is president of a twenty-two member association, all of whom are women, that unite their strength in an "Association Villageoise d'Epargne et de Credit", know as "AVEC" [with], to increase their income. They have worked in the livestock sector for many years.

Her association is called "AVEC Kawral Linguewal" in the Fulani language, which means "AVEC Entente Linguewal" [AVEC Linguewal harmony]. She is the one in the photo. She is 49 years old, married, and mother of two young girls, both of whom go to school. Her husband is a livestock farmer. She is not educated, but she hopes to generate a lot of income through her occupation (animal raising), hence the need for financing from a microfinance institution to attain her goal.

For this loan she wishes to buy sheep in the villages at low prices, as well as feed, to grow her herd. She will resell them in the weekly markets and during festival days to maximize her turnover. This will allow her to support her husband and her children in the realm of education, food, clothing, health, well-being, etc. She has worked this occupation for more than 10 years, seeing the importance of her business in this area.
