Agostinho's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a small truck to help him distribute his products to the market.

Agostinho's story

Agostinho is a 56-years-old Mozambican man. He is married and lives in Maputo with his family.

Agostinho is a visionary man with great business ability including agriculture. Together with his family, Agostinho grows a variety of crops such as maize, tomato, lettuce, onions, and garlic. He also raises a variety of livestock such as pigs, chickens, ducks, and quail.

Initially, Agostinho invested in the purchase of three tropicalized greenhouses to produce vegetables all year round. Unfortunately, in January 2019, a severe storm destroyed all his greenhouses causing Agostinho to start his business all over again.

Despite the effects of climate change, Agostinho has continued his business, and he was able to recover his activity. Now, his main challenge is the lack of transportation to distribute his products in the Matola and Maputo markets.

This lack of transportation is why Agostinho is requesting a second Kiva loan to buy a small truck to help him distribute his products to the market.
