Esther's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve her maize harvests.

Esther's Group's story

Pictured above is Esther, often described as an extremely experienced farmer. She is 35 years old and has seven children. As a group leader, she is representing her group of 14 farmers from Lugari District, Kenya.

Esther is returning to work with One Acre Fund this season, as this means she will be able to access quality training and acquire new farming methods, which is why she decided to join in the first place. Esther says she is happy to have made that decision because, since she first joined in 2015, she has been able to consistently feed her family, which has significantly improved her day-to-day life.

Esther will use the profits from this season to send her children to school.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 6.5 acres. Some members will also purchase a solar light with this loan, so the group will receive a total of seven solar lights.
