'Akesa's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy raw materials for her handicraft business, and pay for her kids' school fees.

'Akesa's story

Akesa is a 42-year-old mother of five who runs her own handicraft business to help her carpenter husband to provide for their family. She makes kiekie from coconut materials only. These types of kiekie require a certain amount of time to perfect, but they sell for a very high price. She makes kiekie from coconut husk, coconut shells and also coconut fiber. Coconut is very useful in this tradition, and multiple products can be created from it.

Akesa advertises her work through social media, and also to her relatives overseas. She makes sure that her business runs actively because her husband's weekly salary hardly covers their family's needs. With her business, they are able to complete their needs.

Akesa is applying for a loan in the hope of buying raw materials for her handicraft business, and also to pay for her kids' last semester school fees. A better future and a better life for her family is what she dreams of.
