Azucena Mariana's story

Azucena Mariana, 42, is in a common-law relationship from which she has four children, three adults and a 12-year-old. Her partner works as a messenger for a business. They live in Jipijapa, known as the Sultana of Coffee, a place that has been very impacted by the Covid-19 health emergency.

She's a hardworking woman who's looking for how to earn her living in the face of this current crisis. Before the pandemic she sold corn tortillas with cheese and chicharrón, but she had to stop selling because of the health emergency and restrictions, so she started making fish and shrimp ceviche in her home. She's still selling it even though she's selling her delicious tortillas again because things have improved, and she hopes everything keeps getting better as the days go by.

This loan is to buy ingredients to make ceviche and tortillas.
