Benkadi Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs to grow garden vegetables for sale.

Benkadi Group's story

Tieman is the one representing the group in the photo due to Covid-19 preventive measures. He has been growing garden vegetables for six years. Tieman lives in a rural area with his two wives who take care of the household. Tieman has four children of preschool age. Tieman is from Mali. He left school in the six grade in order to do farm work.
His main activity is growing garden vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, and African eggplant). At present he works a field of 0.5 hectares [1.2 acres], surrounded by a wooden fence, with a water well and a good water column.

Given the growing customer demand for vegetables and his limited funds, Tieman has reached out to IMF to take out loans in order to buy an electric pump and meet customer demand. The revenues from this business will allow him to increase his produce yield and buy a wire mesh fence that he has wanted for a long time. Tieman is buying agricultural inputs for his garden.
